What is Climate?

Climate is the average weather conditions of a place, usually measured over one year. In other words, it describes the total of all weather (trends in weather patterns) occurring over a period of years in a given place. It therefore tells us what it's usually like in a region over a long period of time. For example, the climate in the US is warm in the summer but cool in the winter. Another example: Jamaica, a tropical country, is known as having a hot climate.
